Heaven’s Rewarding System

When two men arrived at the Pearly Gates at about the same time, and wishing to know if they will be admitted to heaven, St. Peter asked the first man, “What is your name? Where did you live? And what did you do in life?” The man answered, “I’m Oluwatosin Owolabi, a Danfo/Bus driver in Lagos.” St. Peter looks through his book, then gives the man a luxurious silken robe and a golden staff, and bids him welcome into heaven for his eternal reward.

St. Peter then asked the second man, “What is your name? Where did you live? And what did you do in life?” And he proudly replied, “I’m Paul Joseph. I was a Catholic priest in Abuja.” St. Peter looks in his book, then gives him a cotton robe and a wooden staff, and bids him welcome into heaven for his eternal reward.

In exasperation, Father Paul Joseph asked St. Peter, “Wait a minute. Why did that Danfo/Bus driver get a silken robe and golden staff while I, a Catholic Priest and a man of God, got a cotton robe and wooden staff?” St. Peter smiled knowingly and answered, “The rewards in heaven are based on results. While you preached, the people slept; but while he drove, the people prayed.”
