A Man’s Tour Of Heaven

When a man went to heaven and expecting to meet a long line, he was pleasantly surprised to see nobody in line at all, except for an angel sitting in a chair with his feet up on a table. "Hello there," said the angel, "I'm Saint Peter, welcome to heaven!" And the man said, "Thank you Saint Peter, but where is everyone?" Saint Peter responded, "Well, you're in luck. Today is just a very slow day, and to make the time pass, I’m giving tours to all new arrivals. Would you like to enjoy a complete guided tour of heaven?" And the man excitedly said, "Gosh, I'd love a tour of heaven! Please lead on!!” And Saint Peter, lead on. Saint Peter then took him everywhere. They went to hear the Heavenly Choir with three hundred angels singing on high, went to the Great Hall of Saints and the Great Temple of Martyrs. And the man was just overwhelmed.

Finally, Saint Peter took him to the Throne Room of God himself. The man's heart skipped a beat when the light at the far end of the room blinded him to the point that he couldn't stand it any longer. He was then escorted out. Saint Peter then walked him into a huge room filled with thousands of clocks of all sizes and shapes. With a puzzled look on his face, the man asked, "What is this room full of clocks all about?" And in a lecturing tone, Saint Peter described, "This is the Room of Souls. Each clock in this room represents a single human soul, and the time on each clock represents how long each is to live.  Each and every time a person lies, the hands of the clock move a bit faster." And when the man glanced up and noticed a great number of huge clocks facing downwards, and whizzing round at a great rate of speed, his curiosity got the better part of him and he asked, "What are those clocks?" And Saint Peter replied, "Oh! Those are your politicians’ clocks!! We now use them as fans!!!"

Some Habits Of Happy People

Happy people possess a unique attitude and they interpret matters differently as compared to the average unhappy people.

1. Happy People Love Themselves: True happiness is found within. Accepting flaws and personality is the first habit to being happy.

2. Happy People Take Care of Their Bodies: Happy people have confessed to ‘listening’ to their bodies by not stressing out. When the need for rest arises, they take enough rests. Eating a balanced diet and doing regular exercises play a key role in taking care of their bodies too. (This one is definitely going into my to-do list).

3. Happy People Are Grateful For What They Have: Expressing gratitude for what they have rather than complaining about what they lack gives happy people reasons to be more grateful.

4. Happy People Are Generous In Knowledge And Time: We forge a happy life by what we give out. Time and time again, it’s been proven that to receive, one has to be willing to first give. Any act of generosity brightens the day of those around you, and ultimately, it makes the people around you happy. When the people you care about are happy, you’ll in turn feel great.

5. Happy People Live The Moment: The present moment is what matters. Strive to satisfy your current needs while planning for the future. Happy people find joy at the current moment rather than waiting to celebrate in the future. (This one is going to be the top one in my daily to-do list)

6. Happy People Do What They Enjoy: Most people have confessed that their happiness levels have gone up immensely when they start pursuing what makes them happy. This could mean leaving their boring jobs to start a business they’re passionate about, or it could mean they’ve decided to take a one-year sabbatical to travel the world. Whatever it is, they enjoy what they do daily.

7. Happy People Have Happy Friends: Research has proved that joy is contagious. Having happy friends has made them draw inspiration of happiness from them.

8. Happy People Listen To Others: Happy people take their time to listen to views from other people. With this habit, they gain more knowledge and are able to empathize with others.

9. Happy People Go Outside: A regular dose of fresh air is vital to breathing new life into the body and mind.

10. Happy People Do Not Compare Their Lives To Others: Happy people understand that we all have unique lives. Seeing themselves superior or inferior to others cultivates judgmental feelings. To stay happy, they rate their success solely on their progress and theirs alone.

11. Happy People Accept That Everything Is Not Perfect In Life: Setbacks are always guaranteed in life. Happy people accept that there will be injustices and choose to focus on what they have control over to compensate for that.

12. Happy People Nurture Relationships: No man is an island. Positive relationships, both social and romantic, are crucial to happiness.

13. Happy People Do Not Give Up On Themselves: Regardless of how many times they fail at something, happy people will always keep on trying.

14. Happy People appreciate that happiness is a state of mind. No matter how wealthy one is, life will not be fulfilling without happiness.

Logically Thinking

Helping her young students with a math problem and after choosing a student in particular, a teacher said, "John, there are three birds sitting on a telephone wire. A man with a gun shoots one of the birds. How many birds are left on the wire?" John paused and replied thoughtfully, "None!" And the teacher said patiently, "No, no, no.  Let's try again. Maybe you didn't hear me correctly.” And holding up three fingers, the teacher said, "There are three birds sitting on a wire. A man with a gun shoots one," she puts down one finger, "how many birds are left on the wire?" But John still said with authority, "None." The teacher sighed and said, "Tell me how you came up with that." And John said, "It's simple! After the man shot one bird, the noise from the gun scared the other two away." The teacher then said, "Well, that's not technically correct, but I like the way you think."

John then chimed, "Thanks! Now let me ask you a question." When the teacher guardedly said, "Okay," John asdked innocently, "There are three women sitting on a bench eating popsicles. One woman is licking the popsicle, one woman is biting the popsicle, and one is sucking the popsicle.  Which one is married?" The teacher looked at John's angelic face, and writhed in agony turning three shades of red. And John said impatiently, "C'mon! Which one is it? The one licking the popsicle, the one biting it, or the one sucking it; which one is married?" The teacher gulped, and in a barely audible whisper replied, "Well, uh the one who's sucking!" Then John said with surprise, "The one with the wedding ring! But I like the way you think!!"

A Nativity Show

While passing through an urban town, a man came upon a nativity show on exhibit that showed great skill and talent into creating it. However, there was one small feature that bothered him; the three wise men were all wearing fireman's helmets. Totally unable to come up with a reason or explanation, the man left.  And when at a Shop at the edge of town the man asked the lady behind the counter about the helmets, she exploded into a rage, yelling at the man, "You damn Country folks never do read the Bible!"

The man assured the lady that he read the Bible regularly but simply could not recall anything about firemen in the Bible. She immediately jerked her Bible from behind the counter, ruffled through some pages and finally jabbed her finger on a passage. And sticking it into the man's face, she said, "See, it says it right here! The three wise men came from afar!!”

Her Uncanny Request

The Santa Claus at the shopping mall was very surprised when a young lady aged about 25 years old walked up and sat on his lap. though it is common knowledge that Santa doesn't usually take requests from adults, but the young lady smiled very nicely at him, so he asked her, "What do you want for Christmas?"

The young lady smiled sweetly and said, "Something for my mother, please!" And Santa smiled and asked, "Something for your mother? Well, that's very loving and thoughtful of you. What would you like me to bring for her? Without turning a hair the young lady answered quickly, "A son-in-law."

Relationships Are Like Trees

A very distinct feature of trees is that they do not start out as trees. Instead, they are seeds first before they mature into mighty trees, with huge roots reaching deep into the soil, shoots that rise regal into the sky, fruit-bearing branches whose leaves offer shade.

Likewise, the full picture of what a relationship will become once it matures into marriage is often a mystery. Well, of course, if you plan properly and goal-oriented, you would have a very good idea of what your family will look like, coupled with the personality of the person you are dating. Yet, that is all you will have- a picture of what it will look like.

No matter how much time you spend together, how real you both are with each or how well you think you know your partner, you will never know the person as well as you would know the person after marriage. All a relationship gives you are glimpses into who the person really is. Thus, it is only if you are smart, sensitive or observant enough that you would know how to interpret what those glimpses truly mean and how they will affect your relationship in years to come.

The reality is that as time goes on, traits in people mature, mostly as a result of time and life. It is inevitable. As one experiences more and more things and is more exposed to various circumstances, certain traits are being awoken. These traits may mature as bad habits or attitudes our partners may find annoying.

Therefore, it is not that the person really changed. Life simply happened. Does this now mean dating is pointless? Nope. It is very important because you need those glimpses you can only get from dating to decide who is worth settling down with.

Importance Of Word Mindfulness

Johnson went to the doctor and said, "Doc, I want to be castrated." The doctor looked amazed and asked, "What on earth for?" And Johnson replied, "It's something I've been thinking about for a long time and I want to have it done." And the doctor further asked, "But have you thought it through properly? It's a very serious operation and once it's done, there's no going back. It will change your life forever!" But when Johnson insisted and said, "I'm aware of that and you're not going to change my mind. Either you book me in to be castrated or I'll simply go to another doctor." The doctor said, "Well, okay. But it's against my better judgment!"

Johnson then had his operation done. And the next day he was up and walking very slowly down the hospital corridor, with legs apart and holding on to his drip-stand. Heading towards him was another patient, who was walking exactly the same way. So Johnson said, "Hi there! It looks as if you've just had the same operation as me." But when the other patient responded with, "Well, I finally decided after 37 years of life that I would like to be circumcised," Johnson stared at him in horror and screamed, "Shit! THAT'S the word!!”

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Eight

On Tithing_Part Five

Pastor Jones jailed for telling members to tithe 10% of their incomes. Courtroom exchanges between a Judge of the Law and Pastor Jones_Conclusion.

Judge: I want you to take a look at that verse again. Also tell me, what were they tithing?

Mr. Jones: The scripture says it was mint, dill and cumin.

Judge: Is money mentioned?

Mr. Jones: No it was not.

Judge: Once again it was edible products that they were tithing, not money. Do you have anything else you would like to say?

Mr. Jones: If people only tithed edible products like the scripture says, then how would the church survive? We have our mortgage payment, utility bills, staff salary and a host of other things that we have to pay each week. We depend on the money from the people.

Judge: By "church" you mean your organization isn't it Mr Jones? The need does not justify the means. In other words, just because you have all these debts does not give you the right to twist and manipulate scripture and cause people to give under fear of being cursed by God to meet your needs. Does It Mr Jones?  In closing, let me recap a few things for you Mr. Jones.
 -The tithe was never money;
-The tithe was an Old Testament law, which is no longer binding. When it was binding the tithe was used to take care of people, not buildings.
 - We are under a new covenant now.
Paul instructs the Corinthian believers how they are to give. He says in second Corinthians chapter 9 verse 7, Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. So each believer is supposed to give as he or she has determined in his or her heart. If they determine to Give 10% well and good, If they keep aside some every week to meet this more better. If you are trying to make people give under the threat of being cursed or any other reason even blessing, you are wrong. Someone can not give cheerfully if they are being forced to give. If 'your church can not survive on freewill offerings maybe God is not part of your church at all. Mr Jones, Do you intentionally put your people under a Curse or a Bondage?

Mr Jones: Of Course Not!!

Judge: Can you Read in context Gal 3:10-11 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them, and Gal 5:1-4 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Mr. Jones: I never realized all these things, I have always been taught that we had to tithe money to the local church and that is what I have always taught. I can see now that I was completely wrong. I did not study the scripture for myself, I only took mans word for it.
Yes ' am guilty. I will not teach this error anymore.

Sentencing....... All Rise .......

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Seven

On Tithing_Part Four

Pastor Jones jailed for telling members to tithe 10% of their incomes. Courtroom exchanges between a Judge of the Law and Pastor Jones_Continued.

Judge: I also want you to know that these verses speak to nation under the Old Testament law. As you may or may not know Jesus fulfilled the law, it is no longer binding. Once again you have tried to completely take a scripture out of context and apply it to others for your benefit. Can you give me a single scripture where God changed the tithe from food to money?

Mr. Jones: I do not know of any.

Judge: So if God never changed it from food to money who did?

Mr. Jones: Man must have.

Judge: So far all you have done Mr. Jones, is take Old Testament scriptures out of context and try to apply it to believers under the New Covenant. Is this all the proof you have?

Mr. Jones: I do have a New Testament scripture that will show that Jesus told us to tithe.

Judge: Ok let me hear it.

Mr. Jones: Jesus said in Matthew 23:23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone. See Jesus said we should be tithing.

Judge: Let me ask you a question, who was Jesus talking to?

Mr. Jones: The scripture says the Scribes and Pharisees.

Judge: Are you a scribe or Pharisee?

Mr. Jones: Of course not.

Judge: Jesus also said in that passage, you have left undone the weightier matters of the law. Are we under the law Mr. Jones?

Mr. Jones: No.

Judge: Why not?

Mr. Jones: Because Jesus fulfilled it.

Judge: When did Jesus fulfill the law?

Mr. Jones: When He was crucified.

Judge: So the law was still in effect until Jesus death?

Mr. Jones: That is correct.

Judge: I think you know where I am going with this don't you?

Mr. Jones: Yes your Honour. Since Jesus had not yet been crucified and the law was still binding the Pharisees were required to tithe because it was part of the law. Once the law ended, tithing ended also.

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Six

On Tithing_Part Three

Pastor Jones jailed for telling members to tithe 10% of their incomes. Courtroom exchanges between a Judge of the Law and Pastor Jones_Continued.

Mr. Jones: That we should give God a tenth also.

Judge: There you go again, trying to make the scripture say what you want it to say for your benefit. I would also like you to tell me the scriptures that say that Jacob kept his vow with God. I would also like to know where he gave the tenth to because there was no temple or levites to give it to at that time.

Mr. Jones: I can not think of any scriptures that say where or if he ever tithed after his vow.

Judge: It seems fairly obvious to me that Jacob made a voluntary and conditional vow to God. This in no way can be used as a reason to demand others to bring their income to you or any other place.

Mr. Jones: I do have a few more scriptures that I believe will show that we are supposed to tithe.

Judge: You have not said anything yet to convince me one little bit that people are obligated to tithe money to the local organizational institutions -churches and that you were justified in what you were doing. You have taken scripture and misapplied it to your beliefs and for your gain. But in order to be fair to you I will allow you to present more evidence.

Mr. Jones: In the book of Malachi chapter 3 starting at verse 8 it says, will a man rob God? yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, In what have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now with this, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. So you see your Honor, we are commanded to bring the tithes into the storehouse or God will curse us.

Judge: Answer me this Mr Jones, Who was God Speaking to here?

Mr Jones: To the People of Israel

Judge: Can you please read Malachi 2: 1 Please Mr Jones

Mr Jones: Now This command is for you O PRIEST !!

Judge: Did God stop talking to the Priest in chp. 3 Mr Jones?

Mr Jones: No your Honor!

Judge: Answer me this Mr. Jones, were you aware that God never required anyone to tithe money?

Mr. Jones: No I didn't know that.

Judge: The tithe spoken of here was always edible products never money.
Mr. Jones: well your Honor that is because they didn't have money at the time so God had them tithe food instead.

Judge: Not true, money is first mentioned in Genesis and Malachi was written hundreds of years later. God had them bring food in so that the levites, the fatherless and widows may eat and be satisfied. The tithe was used mainly to take care of people. Also notice it says in the verse you quoted, that there may be food in my house. The food was the tithe. How do you completely overlook the word food in those verses?

Mr. Jones: I don't know

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Five

On Tithing_Part Two

Pastor Jones jailed for telling members to tithe 10% of their incomes. Courtroom exchanges between a Judge of the Law and Pastor Jones_Continued.

Judge: Is it recorded as to what exactly Abraham did give Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: I believe it says plunder?

Judge: So plunder could be any number of things?

Mr. Jones: Yes, I suppose

Judge: It could have been food, cattle, sheep, the people's possessions or any number of things. It does not say it was all money correct?

Mr. Jones: Yes you are correct, it does not say just money

Judge: As a matter of fact money is never mentioned in that account at all is that correct Mr. Jones?

Mr. Jones: Yes your Honour, money is never mentioned just goods and food and people.

Judge: So there is no way you can say with any certainty that Abraham in fact gave Melchizedek any money at all?

Mr. Jones: That is right.

Judge: I only have one last question for you Mr. Jones. Did God command Abraham to give this plunder tithe to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: No, it appears that he did this voluntarily.

Judge: So are you trying to tell me that because of this voluntary, one time gift by Abraham, that may not have even consisted of money, all Christians everywhere are obligated to bring 10% of their weekly pay check to a local Registered Organization-church? Considering all the evidence I would say you are beyond any shadow of a doubt guilty of deliberately trying to make the scriptures say things they have not said for financial gain.

Mr. Jones: Ok your Honour, I can see how foolish I was to try and use the story of Melchizedeck to try and get the people to tithe money. But there are many other verses that will support my belief on tithing. Jacob said he would give God 10% of everything. I think we should follow his example.

Judge: Let's see what Jacob said. Please read the verse you are talking about for me Mr. Jones.

Mr. Jones: In Genesis chapter 28 starting at verse 20 it says. Jacob vowed a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on, so that I come again to my father's house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God, then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God's house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you."

Judge: You said we should follow Jacob’s example, is that right Mr. Jones?

Mr. Jones: Yes that is right, he vowed to give a tenth and we should too.

Judge: Let me point out one thing for you Mr. Jones, Jacob said he would give God a tenth, ONLY if He blessed him first. So as you said previously, we should follow Jacob's example and tell God that we will only give him a tenth if he blesses us first. Is that right?

Mr. Jones: That is not what I meant.

Judge: What did you mean then?

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Four

On Tithing_Part One

Pastor Jones jailed for telling members to tithe 10% of their incomes. Courtroom exchanges between a Judge of the Law and Pastor Jones.

Judge: Mr. Jones you have been charged with multiple counts of extortion. Your crime spree covers 20 years and thousands of victims. You have defrauded people out of their money with fear and manipulation, telling them they had to tithe 10% of their income as per the LAW to your Regd. organization (called Church) and that God would bless them if they did. You also told them that if they didn't tithe God would curse them.  How do you plead?

Mr. Jones: I plead not guilty your Honor, I have done nothing wrong. I have only preached what the Bible says. In the Bible Abraham tithed to Melchizedek and God blessed him for his faithful giving. The Bible even says he was rich in silver and gold.

Judge: Is it not true, Mr. Jones, that in Genesis chapter 13 verse 2 the Bible says Abraham was rich with livestock, silver and gold?

Mr. Jones: Yes, you are exactly right, that's what I just told you.

Judge: Ok, we read about Abraham being a rich man in chapter 13 but it is not until Genesis chapter 14 that we read about Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek. So Abraham was already a rich man before he tithed to Melchizedek, wasn't he?

Mr. Jones: Yes, I suppose you are right.

Judge: So his riches were not the result of his tithe to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: No.

Judge: Mr. Jones, you also say God blessed him for his faithful giving. How many times is it recorded that Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: Well, just once.

Judge: So the Bible never said that he gave week after week?

Mr. Jones: No it does not.

Judge: Where did Abraham get the things that he gave to Melchizedek?

Mr. Jones: Well the Bible says it was from the plunders of war?

Judge: So you are telling me that he gave from the plunders of war?

Mr. Jones: Yes that's what the Bible says.

Judge: So he basically took things that were not really his in the first place and gave them as the tithe?

Mr. Jones: That is what the scripture seems to indicate.

Judge: Is it recorded that he ever took anything from his own possessions and tithed them to Melchizedek or anyone else?

Mr. Jones: I guess not

Judge: You guess not, you are a teacher and you are only guessing, is it or is it not written that he ever gave any of his own possessions as a tithe to anyone?

Mr. Jones: No it is not written anywhere that I have seen.

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Three

The law in Israel recognizes the religions of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, the Druze, and the Bahai Faith. Christian religious communities recognized according to the adopted Ottoman millet (court) system include: Eastern Orthodox, Latin (Roman Catholic), Gregorian-Armenian, Armenian Catholic, Syrian Catholic, Chaldean (Chaldean Uniate Catholic), Greek Catholic Melkite, Maronite, Syrian Orthodox, and Evangelical Episcopal. The Anglican and Bahai communities are recognized through a British Mandate-era law adopted by the government. The government does not recognize other religious communities, including major Protestant denominations with a presence in the country, as distinct ethno religious communities. (This is contained in the International Religious Freedom Report issued in 2016 by the US State Department). All none recognized faiths pay a Property Tax on their places of worship and Jehovah's Witness has been the most hit by these taxes.

Public preaching is only allowed with permit obtained and it is against the law to give gifts while preaching or preach to a person below the age of 18. 13 of the most Senior Christian Leaders in Jerusalem wrote to Trump begging that he does no go ahead with the proclamation he made yesterday and since the announcement the Pope has condemned the decision. They know that access to Christian holy sites will be under threat once full control is given to Jews whose orthodox sect already spit on them in public for wearing Christian robes. If you notice this piece does not address whether what Trump did is right or wrong because that is a bigger conversation and I do not believe it matters as Trump only seeks to advance his country's interests based on how he sees them. He, as President is entitled to that just as those affected by the decision are allowed to find sensible ways to protect their interests.

This piece is not a demonstration of hate for Jews! No way!! All you see here can be confirmed as factual from open sources if you just make the little effort of researching. I merely seek to clarify one point to my friends who feel this declaration is a victory for Christians. It is not! Israel of today is a Jewish state which looks out for one religious group only; Judaism. In fact Israeli Arabs who constitute 18% of the population have fared better in Israel than Christians as there is currently an Arab Israeli Supreme Court Judge and several members of the Knesset who are Muslims. The same cannot be said of Christian Jews and that should be your focus. We pray for the peace of the world and the unity of its people.

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part Two

When I ran into some brothers who were celebrating the declaration of Jerusalem as the new capital of Israel as a fulfillment of a Christian prophesy, it then hit me that we live in a world ruled by debates. We debate about Bobrisky and his Gateman Jacob, and other mondaine things, so people forget to invest in knowing the truth about some other things.

Some other things like, "Out of the 8.585 million population of Israel, Christians constitute 2%, which is about 169000, unlike Saudi with a 4.4% Christian population or Jordan with a 4-5% Christian population or Lebanon with a 40.4% Christian population. And of the 2% Christians in Israel, between 60 - 80% are Arab Christians.

A tiny fraction are Coptic Christians. Jews who believe in Christ are called messianic Jews, and they are only 15000 in number out of the over 8million population. Several applications by Christian Jews to immigrate to Israel have been rejected and you will see why when you read further. Those who found their way into Israel were still denied citizenship until 2008 when the Supreme Court ruled that people who themselves were never Jews but are descendants of Jews can become citizens.

Till date, where an adult Jew converts to Christianity just like is the case with any other religion, he or she loses his protection by the state of Israel under the Law of Return. Jews consider Christians as pagans for their belief in the Trinity and claim that God is an Incarnate human who died to forgive sins committed against him. Therefore, Christian Jews who are the most educated in Israel are the most discriminated against.

What A Man Really Wants

A lady called her mother and said, "Mum, I really wish to please my husband with a gift that he would really like; but I am having trouble coming up with what he would want." And without hesitation her mother said, "Darling, I don't know how you're going to achieve that; because what a man really wants is another woman always."

Living In My Ignorance And Gullibility_Part One

Pope Francis said, "Lead us not into temptation," not appropriate translation. He said the Roman Catholic Church should adopt a better translation of the phrase “Lead us not into temptation” in the “Our Father,” the best known prayer in Christianity. “That is not a good translation,” the Pope said in a television interview on Wednesday night. Francis said the Catholic Church in France had decided to use the phrase “Do not let us fall into temptation” as an alternative and indicated that it or something similar should be applied worldwide.

The prayer, also called “The Lord’s Prayer,” is part of Christian liturgical culture and memorised from childhood by hundreds of millions of Catholics. It is a translation from the Latin vulgate, which was translated from ancient Greek, which was in turn translated from Aramaic, the language spoken by Jesus Christ. Liturgical translations are usually done by local churches in coordination with the Vatican. (Reuters/NAN)

A Guy's Thought

During their honeymoon, the groom wrapped his bride in his arms and said, "I love you today and I'll love you tomorrow, and the day and even next week. In five months, I will love you, just like I loved you yesterday. Fifty years from now, I'll run my hands through my grey hairs and smile at the thought of how much I love you. I just hope you'll be with me through all that time."

You And Your Integrity

The secret of developing and maintaining your Integrity, is getting started. And like all things, it always seems impossible until it's done. While you are not bound to win or succeed, you are bound to be true and live by the light that you have. You must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.

Your goodness is about your character, integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. And the supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity; for the greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to positively affect those around him.

And living with integrity means, not settling for less than what you know you is true and deserve in your life and relationships, asking for what you want and need from others, speaking your truth even though it might create conflict or tension, and behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values, beliefs and convictions. It does not matter how slowly you may go, as long as you do not stop.

How She Maximized Her Assets

When a tall, sexy and well endowed lady walked into a Casino, it seemed as if the world had come to a stand still. She just smiled leeringly, walked to a table and bet 30,000 Dollars on a single roll of dice. Then she said, "I hope you don't mind, but I feel luckier when I'm nude." She immediately removed her clothes, rolled the dice and yelled, "Come on baby, Mama needs new clothes!"

As the dice came to a stop, she jumped up and exclaimed, "Yes, yes, I won, I won!" She then hugged the dealers, picked up her winnings and clothes and left. After the dealers have gazed at each other dumbfounded, one dealer asked the other, "What number rolled on the dice?" And the other replied, "I don't know, I thought you were watching."

An Uncanny Qualifier Into Heaven

A philosopher, a mathematician and an idiot, were out riding in the car when it crashed into a tree, died and found themselves standing before the pearly gates of Heaven, where St. Peter and the Devil were standing nearby. "Gentlemen," the Devil started, "Due to the fact that Heaven is now overcrowded, St. Peter has decided to limit the number of people entering Heaven.

Anyone who can ask me a question which I don't know or cannot answer, will be worthy enough to go to Heaven, but if I do know or can answer, will go to Hell." The philosopher then stepped forward and said,, "Okay, give me the most comprehensive report on Socrates' teachings." With a snap of his finger, a stack of papers appeared next to the Devil. The philosopher read them and concluded it was correct. And the Devil said, "Then, go to Hell!" With another snap of his finger, the philosopher disappeared.

The mathematician then asked, "Give me the most complicated formula ever theorized!" The Devil again snapped of his finger, and another stack of papers appeared next to him. The mathematician read them and reluctantly agreed it was correct. Again the Devil said, "Then, go to Hell!" And with another snap of his finger, the mathematician disappeared too.

The idiot then stepped forward and said, "Bring me a chair!" And the Devil brought forward a chair. Then the idiot added, "Drill 7 holes on the seat." And the Devil did just that. The idiot then sat on the chair, let out a very loud fart, stood up and asked, "Which hole did my fart come out from?" The Devil inspected the seat and said, "The third hole from the right." But the idiot said, "Wrong! It's from my asshole." And the idiot went to heaven.

A Letter From Your Liver

Hello my dear friend,

It’s me, your liver. I hang out inside your abdomen all day doing what I do best. I know we’ve never met, but I’m the second largest organ in your body. I’m shaped like a football that has been deflated on one side, and I weigh around three pounds. I take everything you eat and turn it into the energy and nutrients you need to go about your day. Not to brag, but I’m kind of a big deal. I make your blood clot, I make your medications work, and I also remove anything that could harm your body.

One particular function of mine often goes overlooked. I am responsible for processing all of the alcohol that you drink. When you’re out having a good time, I make sure to turn that alcohol into water and carbon dioxide before it hits your bloodstream. However, if you drink more alcohol than I can handle, substances that make their way into your blood and parts of me will become damaged in the process.

I’m not saying that you can’t ever drink. Myself and the other organs down here just want you to be careful. If you find yourself drinking a little more often and heavier than you should, you can prevent any damage to my cells by seeking help for an addiction. In honour of Alcohol Awareness Month, I just wanted to pop in for a second and let you know how drinking can affect me.

Be Smart about Alcohol and me, Your Liver. After years of heavy drinking, livers like me begin to deteriorate. I can only process a specific amount of alcohol every hour, and if you exceed that amount you will feel that alcohol hit your bloodstream. Drinking in moderation is perfectly fine with me. According to the CDC, one drink in the United States is equal to:

12 ounces of beer with a 5 percent alcohol content

8 ounces of malt liquor with a 7 percent alcohol content

5 ounces of wine with a 12 percent alcohol content

1.5 ounces of 80-proof, or 40 percent alcohol content, distilled spirits or liquor

Drinking Too Much Can Cause Liver Disease: To protect me, it’s recommended that women should have no more than one drink per day and men should stick to no more than two drinks per day. There are levels of drinking that are dangerous to me. Binge drinking can do a lot of damage to my cells. In general, binge drinking is consuming more than four drinks in one sitting for women and more than five drinks in one sitting for men. Another type of dangerous drinking, heavy drinking, is strongly correlated with liver disease. Heavy drinking occurs for women when they consume eight or more drinks per week. For men, heavy drinking is considered fifteen or more drinks per week. Heavy drinkers may be alcoholics or alcohol dependent.

How Does Alcohol Affect The Liver?: There are three types of liver diseases that are directly related to heavy alcohol consumption: alcoholic fatty liver disease, alcoholic hepatitis, and alcoholic cirrhosis. Each of these diseases can progress from one to the other over time.

Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease: This condition occurs when fat is deposited into your liver cells. It’s considered an “early stage” of alcoholic liver disease. My symptoms are often minimal or nonexistent, but I can make you feel fatigued, weak, or cause discomfort in your upper right abdomen. This condition is actually very common in heavy drinkers and often goes undetected. Staying away from alcohol can often reverse this disease and prevent any further damage to me.

Alcoholic Hepatitis: About 35 percent of heavy drinkers develop alcoholic hepatitis, and 55 percent of those people already had alcoholic fatty liver disease. This disease is caused by excess fat build up in your liver cells, and also liver inflammation and mild scarring. This disease causes me to make you feel a little worse for wear. You might feel nauseated, have abdominal pain, vomit, not feel like eating and develop a fever and jaundice. Mild cases of alcoholic hepatitis can be reversed by avoiding alcohol, but more severe cases can lead to liver failure.

They give most of their wealth back to the community in form of charity, Etc. And have also greatly impacted the lives of humans all over the world. And after death, their legacy would continue to live on.

Oyedepo, Adeboye, Oyakhilome, Okotie etc, are all world super rich Pastors, whose only sources of wealth COME DIRECTLY FROM TITHES AND OFFERING.

Instead of giving back, they continue to ask their followers to sow  seeds of faith, testimony offering, thanksgiving offering, foundation offering, preaching offerings, tapping into the man of God anointing with a good seed offering, keying into the word of God with a good seed, provoking God's blessing with a good seed, Sunday school offering, maintenance offering, health offering, escaping death offering, building offering, and money Sacrificial giving for Divine Sacrifice, Abundance Sacrifice, Dominion Sacrifice, Greatness Sacrifice, Golden Sacrifice, Next Level Sacrifice, or even sacrifice  .
houses, cars, lands, etc.

All the above and other dubious ways just to maintain their lavish lifestyles, and build schools that children of their average members can't afford to attend. Funny enough, it is the children of politicians and other rich people (who can never account for their sources of wealth with relevant tax clearances,) who attend these schools.

May we be granted the grace to overcome our ignorance and gullibility; that they may seize to use their knowledge of misinterpreting the scriptures for their selfish gains.

Identifying And Crushing Your Fears_Part Four

26: Model: And this is not about modelling clothes, but about finding someone who had the fear you have, and managed to transcend it. Get in touch with them, ask them how they did it, and see if it could work for you.

27. Pray: You don’t have to be religious to pray. And prayer being very similar to meditation; pray to the cosmic and your subconscious for guidance on how to start overcoming your specific fear. In the end, it doesn’t matter what you choose, as long as it works for you.

28. WTWTCH: “What’s The Worst That Could Happen?” If you’re afraid of public speaking, imagine yourself on a stage with everyone laughing at you. How do you feel afterward? You’re still alive, aren’t you? And life goes on, and they had a good laugh!

29. Yoga: Energy can get trapped in your body. When you do Yoga or similar exercise and deep breathing, you sometimes release parts of your fears, or you might even find that you’ve dropped a few fears without even noticing after a few months of these exercises.

30. Ask: Your feelings are always there to tell you something; so ask what their purpose is. Ask your heart, God, the universe, or whoever or whatever you feel comfortable with, “What are your fears trying to tell you?”

31. Understand Failure: Failure does not exist! When you appreciate that failures are only learning experiences, and you submerge yourself into a culture that does not see failure as only experiences and results, you take away an enormous chunk of negative energy out of your life.

32. Explore Your Roots: What is the root of your fear? This may require some meditation. Look inside and ask yourself when the fear started. If you’re afraid of public failure for example, when did it happen? Were you shamed in public when you were younger?

33. Deep Breathe: There is power in breath! And your breath can set you free, anchor you in the now and help you vanquish and overcome your most pervasive fears. It is simple, but one of the most powerful ways of overcoming fear

http://eviparker.blogspot.com.ng/

Friday 17 November 2017

17. Watch: Watching a movie or a documentary can be as enlightening as reading a book. Sometimes it’s nice to distract yourself from your fear, but if you really want to, you can find dozens of movies on the fear you’re dealing with.

18. Diet: Did you know that the food you eat can have a dramatic impact on how you feel? All the sugars, additives, sweeteners, and other chemicals in our foods have a surprisingly powerful effect in getting our body out of balance. Stick to a clean diet that suits you. Meaning more fruits, and vegetables; just eat a bit more each day, and you will be amazed at what happens.

19. Positivity: Whenever fear strikes, flip it over. Instead of thinking of something bad that can happen, think of something positive. What’s a positive outcome to your fear? If you’re thinking about public speaking, imagine yourself being wildly successful instead of failing horribly. This is very similar to #9, but with a small twist.

20. Perspective: Learning to deal with fear is all about putting your negative thoughts in perspective. We tend to focus too much on the negative, and making a big deal of nothing; that we overlook all the options being made available to us. We must appreciate that we aren’t psychics, and so it’s impossible for us to predict the many things that can happen..

21. Surrender: Surrendering to what is powerful, because as long as we try to change what is, we are in war with reality. To learn more about how to surrender to what is, you may read Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life.

22. Your Story: We all tell ourselves a story about our fear. If I’m afraid that no one will like my writing, I tell myself a story (in my head) about how I’ll fail horribly, people will laugh at me, or even worse, no one will read what I have to say. What’s your story?

23. Release Control: We want to learn how to control fear. We want predictability, even though it’s impossible to get. Where we don’t have control, we experience fear. But is it possible to ever have control? Even if you can swim, you can drown. A professional guitar player can still make mistakes and butcher a gig. Give up the illusion of control, and you’re free.

24. Help: Be kind to others. If you’re shy, focus on helping people instead of being self-conscious about how you look or sound when you talk. Flip it on other people and make yourself feel good. This is very similar to #16.

25. Meaning: Appreciate that we all go through things for a reason. And that includes the fears we have, which also includes overcoming fear and learning the lessons that come out of it. Though this may not be the case 100% of the time, but when you look back at the challenges and fears in your life, you will see that more often than not, they delivered exactly the messages you needed at that time.

Identifying And Crushing Your Fears_Part Two

9. Gratitude: Yes, gratitude; for there is power in gratitude. Whenever you feel fear, switch it over to what you are grateful for instead. If you’re afraid of public speaking, be grateful for the opportunity to communicate with so many people, and that they are there to genuinely listen to what you have to say.

10. Journaling: Getting your fears down on paper is important, because trying to think them through doesn’t work, as other thoughts may keep creeping in. And you may get caught in endless loops of negativity that only lead you further down the rabbit hole, and make your life miserable.

11. Talk: How often do we hold the negative in, just because we are afraid of how others might react, or because of some other reasons? Talking helps, but don’t throw a pity party for yourself. And the more you talk, the more you are able to express yourself.

12. Therapy: If you can find a good therapist, therapy can be highly beneficial, even life-changing. But finding the right therapist for you can be hard, so listen to your heart and choose someone who resonates with you.

13. NLP: NLP is short for Neuro-Linguistic Programming. You learn how your mind works. NLP has helped thousands in eliminating phobias, fears, and other emotional problems, so it has its place, but only if it feels magnetic to you.

Life Coach: Do you have a fear of success, or a fear of failure? A good life coach can help you examine what you truly want from life, and where your fears come from. While it can be scary, it’s very helpful in getting clear about what you want and what’s stopping you.

15. Read: Reading a good book on your specific fear can open new doors on how you can get rid of it. Reading lots of motivational and inspirational works on and around the topic you’re dealing with, will do you a lot of good.

16. Take Action: Always be an action taker, and know that fears are just fears; that are created by your imagination to make reality seem scarier than it is. When you take action and face your fears, they become weaker, because you realize that reality isn’t nearly as bad as your imagination.

http://eviparker.blogspot.com.ng/

Identifying And Crushing Your Fears_Part One

Fear being a part and parcel of life, which in humans is a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that occurs in certain types of organisms, which causes a change in metabolic and organ functions and ultimately a change in behaviour, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events. Though we often fear situations that are far from life-or-death, and thus hang back for no good reason, fear is still a natural alarm system acting as a vital response to physical and emotional danger; if we didn't feel it, we couldn't protect ourselves from legitimate threats. Alarm implies an agitation of the feelings caused by awakening to imminent danger, a feeling of fright or panic. The problem is that most people cling to their fears, because it’s part of who they are. And if you aren’t ready to face your fears, you probably won’t be able to transcend them.

1. Awareness: Before you can begin overcoming fear, you have to be aware that your fears are causing havoc in your life. It’s easy to get so attached to your thoughts and feelings that you think they are all that exist, which couldn’t be further from the truth. You are not your fears; you are the awareness that experiences your fears.

2. Identify: Get specific about what exactly you’re afraid of. And look at the pictures you have in your head about the situation. What is happening in them? What are you really scared of? Then become an observer of your inner space.

3. Curiosity: While curiosity may have killed the cat, it certainly won’t do you any harm when investigating your fears. Get curious about what thoughts generate your fear, where do you feel the fear, and how do you react to it? Again, be an observer of what is going on.

4. The Now: What are you lacking right now? When you centre yourself in the now, you realize that everything is how it is. You naturally accept what is. Tapping into the now can be as simple as feeling your body and breath.

5. EFT: EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Techniques. You use your fingertips to tap meridian points on your body while thinking of a fear you have and it alleviates and sometimes gets rid of the fear altogether. Simple, yet extremely powerful!

6. Sedona Method: Another simple system to conquer fear is the Sedona method. It consists of asking a few simple questions while focusing on your fear. It’s so simple that you may dismiss it several times before taking it seriously. Bad move!

7. The Work: The Work is very similar to the Sedona method in that it asks questions. The Work is one of the many ways of dealing with fears, anxieties, and worries. There are many methods available, so pick the one that you resonate with.

8. Hypnosis: With hypnosis, you can program the right thoughts into your mind and eliminate negative thoughts and beliefs. Though this doesn’t work for everyone, it might for you. Some use it to consistently evoke positive change in their lives. But remember, this isn’t necessarily about getting rid of your fears, but learning to relate to them in a different and positive way.

Some Unhealthy Habits_Part Two

7. Skipping Breakfast: How many times have you heard, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day”?” Well, it is. Skipping the first meal can make you crash (and eat more) later on in the day. It can also mean less energy during the day for workouts and just make concentrating harder throughout the morning. By the time lunch rolls around, you’re ravished and will eat a cow if it were in front of you—or some of those cupcakes and bagels around the office. Breakfast eaters are thinner, can process information in the morning better, and have lower blood pressure.

8. Too Much TV: The average adult spends more than 20 hours a week watching TV. It’s almost a full day. This inactivity can bring down your stamina and will to stay active. “It's an activity where you burn few calories and in many cases consume lots of calories by snacking,” says Heslin. Moderate your viewing. If you watch an hour’s worth of television, get up and do something in between. Don’t just sit there!

9. Unhealthy Relationships: If you’re not happy in your relationship, get out. Depression can set in, which can lead to a plethora of bad habits (poor eating, lack of exercise). “Staying in an unhealthy relationship keeps you from your full potential because it metaphorically brings you down,” says Lawrence Biscontini, a Mindful movement specialist based in Greece. “What you tolerate, you accept, and tolerating a relationship that is below your standards, even unconsciously means, you are accepting standards that fall below what you seek.”

10. Little Or No Sleep: No sleep can lead to many more bad habits over the years. Sleep deprivation comes in all forms and can lead to depression, low libido, weight gain, and more. The CDC reported that 35% of adults get less than seven hours of sleep on average, and 38% have even dropped off to sleep during the day at least once in the past month. Chronic sleep disorders, or lack of sleep, can lead to diabetes, stroke, heart disease, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, and more throughout time. Getting little sleep also impairs your cognitive processes and can impact your alertness, concentration, reasoning, and problem solving. It can also kill your sex drive or any desire to work out, as well as age you. Yes, lack of sleep can lead to fine lines, dark circles under the eyes, and overall lacklustre skin, so close your eyes and snooze a bit longer each day.

Some Unhealthy Habits_Part One

1. Snacking When Not Hungry: Food is everywhere, and it lures us in at every point. With all the offerings at your fingertips and just a bite away, you can sometimes eat by impulse and not because you’re actually hungry. Snacking when you’re not hungry can cause you to skip actual meals and miss out on important nutrients and minerals throughout the day. “Snacking when not hungry doesn’t allow you to practice listening to your body and respecting your body’s natural hunger and fullness cues,” says Willow Jarosh, M.S., R.D., C.D.N., nutrition specialist, C & J Nutrition. “Learning to listen to these cues from your body on when to eat and when to stop is vital to reaching and maintaining a healthy weight, and happy relationship with food.”

2. Smoking: This one is simple. Smoking increases your risk of heart disease (which accounts for 35 to 40% of all smoking-related deaths), emphysema, cancer, stroke, asthma, lung infections, and dementia. “If you don't smoke, don't start,” says Jo-Ann Heslin, registered dietician and author of the Pocket Books. “If you do smoke, try to quit.” A study, conducted by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, found that over time, smoking can even dull taste buds—not a good move when trying to eat healthy. “Smoking can make it much more difficult to enjoy the natural flavours of fruits and veggies without loads of salt and sugar,” says Jarosh.

3. Drinking: Moderation is the key when it comes to alcohol. “The question isn't, Do you drink?” says Heslin. “It's how much,” The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that one in 10 deaths among adults, ages 20 to 64 (between 2006 and 2010) were attributed to excessive drinking, according to a recent study on whether short-term (car and other accidents) or long-term health issues are brought on by excess alcohol consumption. Heslin says that one to two drinks a day can reduce your risk for heart disease by raising HDL (good) cholesterol, while three or more drinks a day may increase the risk for high blood pressure and heart disease; over time, drinking in excess can also lead to liver disease. Aside from the health risks, alcohol contains calories and enhances your appetite and will make you eat more.

4. Nail Biting: The habit of using your teeth to cut your nails, whether due to extreme nervousness, also known as Onchophagia, can pass germs into the body since the hands touch nearly everything. Even if you suds up your hands several times a day or lather on antibacterial lotion, germs sneak in. Nail biting can lead to repeated colds or flu and bacterial infections. Over time, gnawing your nails can put stress on your teeth, which can lead to crooked teeth or other dental problems. It can also lead to skin infections and aggravate the nail bed. So stop chomping and grab a nail clipper instead.

5. Eating Too Fast: Slow down. Where’s the fire? If you eat too fast, you aren’t giving your body enough time to realize that you’re full. Scarfing down your food doesn’t give your brain or gastrointestinal tract enough time to process the fact that your body is being fed. Over time, this will not only lead to overeating and weight gain, but eating too fast can also increase your likelihood for heartburn and bloating. Eat slower and you can better know how satisfied, or dissatisfied, your stomach really is. Instead of eating to eat, Heslin recommends chatting with your dinner partners. If alone, put your fork down in between bites, chew and swallow before putting more food in your mouth.

6. Ignoring Sex: Work stress, lack of sleep, and other health issues can make the libido drop. If you find you’re just not interested in sex anymore, visit your doctor. Stress can just be the beginning of the cause of a low libido, which can be due to an underactive thyroid, hormonal imbalance, hypertension, or other ailments, which can only get worse over time if you don’t get it checked out.

The Pleading

I heard her yell from outside my window, "Give it to me! Give it to me!! I'm getting so wet, give it to me now!!!" Then I heard him say, "You can scream all you want to! I'm keeping the umbrella!!"

Her Contacts

A traffic policeman stopped a lady, and after inspecting her license he said, "Lady, it says here that you should be wearing glasses." The lady said, "Well, I have contacts." And the policeman frowned and said, "I don't care who you know! You're getting a ticket!!"

Greed Costs

When Andrew visited his friend Thomas at the office and saw his beautiful secretary, he said, "You have got a very sexy secretary. Where on earth did you find her?" And Thomas smiled and responded, "Thanks! It's actually a robot named Lucy. If you squeeze her right boob, she takes dictations and if you squeeze her left boob, she types letters!"

And when Andrew asked if he could borrow her some day, Thomas replied, "Sure, she could be all yours next Friday; as I shall be out of town all day." And calling from the hospital early Saturday morning, Andrew screamed at Thomas, "You bloody bastard! You didn't tell me the hole between Lucy's legs is a pencil sharpener!!"

Thought Of The Day

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore, and who always will. So don't worry about those from your past, three's a reason why they didn't make it to your present.

On Your Self-esteem

Appreciate that you are unique, always maintain your self-esteem, and never compromise your ideals. For if you ever set out to be liked, you would be prepared to compromise on anything at any time, and you would achieve nothing. Never compromise or change yourself just to get someone to like you. So disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, and which may be difficult at times, is the highroad to pride, self-esteem, personal satisfaction and enriches your uniqueness.

On Alcohol And Lifespan

It's one of those medical anomalies that nobody can really explain: Longitudinal studies have consistently shown that people who don't consume any alcohol at all tend to die before people who do. At first glance, this makes little sense. Why would ingesting a psychoactive toxin that increases our risk of cancer, dementia and liver disease lengthen our lifespan?

Well, the anomaly has just gotten more anomalous: A new study, published in the journal Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research, followed 1,824 participants between the ages of 55 and 65. Once again, the researchers found that abstaining from alcohol increases the risk of dying, even when you exclude former alcoholics who have now quit. The thinking is that ex-drinkers might distort the data, since they've already pickled their organs.

While 69 percent of the abstainers died during the 20-year time span of the study, only 41 percent of moderate drinkers passed away. Moderate drinkers were also 23 percent less likely to die than light drinkers. But here's the really weird data point: Heavy drinkers also live longer than abstainers. Only 61 percent of heavy drinkers died during the study. In other words, consuming disturbingly large amounts of alcohol seems to be better than drinking none at all.

Quote Of The Day

You have not failed until you have stopped trying, and not defeated except from within yourself; for there are really no insurmountable barriers, except your own inherent weakness of purpose.

May we be granted the grace to appreciate that we may have to fight a battle more than once to win it.

Why I Love Text Chatting

The other day when a brother asked me, "Why do you love to text chat on the internet so much?" I simply smiled and said, "First of all, it is less expensive and when your chat mate becomes overbearingly boring, you simply log off and blame it on the network later. And second of all, it is therapeutic, especially on those occasions when you are spared the agony of looking at any chat mate in the face when they put a foot in the mouth; like the other day when I told a lady that I was a farmer and have a Plantain plantation, and she said her father was also a farmer and has a Yam yamation, and a Cassava cassavation."

Talking Your Way Out Of Some Sticky Situations_Part Three

Distraction is one of the most powerful tools to get out of a tricky situation and one of the easiest to implement; which some very powerful politicians use with great expertise. And you don't have to be a skilled motivator or even an experienced debater. All that you need is a creative thought process, so that you can distract a person whose name you forgot or a discussion with a loved one that you don't want to get into.

Though some sticky situations like when you accidentally put your foot in your mouth by suggesting that someone was pregnant (but wasn't), or telling someone you thought they were 50 years old, when they were only 40 can be difficult to recover from, you can always think one step ahead and with a "distraction plan" in bird's eye view, you'll be able to talk your way out of an insensitive comment within minutes.

If you forgot someone's name and realize this just as they come up to greet you, head right into a compliment by replacing the typical greeting of, "Hi, (name) so nice to see you," with commenting with enthusiasm on her beautiful top, skirt or purse. Distraction is a wonderful way to develop a plan B, and without insulting or harming your relationship with them in the process.

It doesn't matter if you face a sticky situation at work, at home or in the company of a stranger that you just met. With some planning ahead and creative problem solving, you can become a master talker and just when you need the skill most.

Talking Your Way Out Of Some Sticky Situations_Part Two

Considering that every social event holds the risk of turning into a sticky situation, you should be outcomes focussed because you can't prevent the occasional differences of opinions which may offend someone from time to time. So, focus on your goal and talk with an outcomes focused frame of reference. For example, if you're at a work party and you're speaking to a group of coworkers and subordinates, a "touchy" subject can easily occur.

Although you're at a party, you're still in a work environment, which means you should have your guard up, don't reveal too much about your personal life, but be professional. And if a coworker confronts you in a social event, or even at the office during the work week, avoid a sticky situation by reverting your attention to the larger goal.

Let's say that she was upset that you bounced a good idea off of her original idea, which has scored you big with boss. Unfortunately, your coworker claims that you "stole" her idea and you wouldn't have gotten ahead in today's meeting if it wasn't for her. You should handle this career "hot potato," by quickly focusing on a positive outcome. Don't react and add "fuel to the fire," which will cause future hostile interactions between your coworker and yourself.

Instead of playing the "blame game," which involves blaming the other person for what he or she didn't do and is one of the worst persuasion tactics out there that won't get you far, you should redirect the conversation to something flattering, and suggest opening up an opportunity in the near future for the two of you to jaw jaw and come up with a killer idea to present to your boss together.

And you would have effectively shocked her with your positive suggestion to merge together and both earn credit for a job well done, and also shown her that you aren't like everyone else and that you are a true team player.

Talking Your Way Out Of Some Sticky Situations_Part One

Since we are all egocentric by nature and without which we couldn't survive as a species, we have got to always Think One Step Ahead. So think how stepping outside of yourself and putting yourself in someone else's shoes can help you become a winner in a sticky situation.

For example, if you found yourself unable to remember what today's date signifies (after your spouse has made it clear it is, in fact, an important day), but you know that should you guess wrong, you'll upset your partner, try not saying anything at all. Sometimes, the best way to get out of a sticky situation is by exuding more mystery and less talk.

This will give you a way to buy some time and allow your partner think that you know what the important date is or what the answer to the important question may be. You're not lying, and you're not misleading your partner either. Instead, you're allowing yourself to use your body language to eliminate disagreement over a hot topic.

Thought Of The Day

Perhaps the surest way to find happiness and joy for yourself is to devote your energies toward making someone else happy. If you make an effort to search for joy you will find it elusive, largely because you will become engaged in the search itself. Your life will be about striving. However, if you try to bring happiness to someone else then joy will come to you.

You came into this world with nothing and you will leave with nothing. The only thing you can do with your life is to give it away. This is the true essence of feeling purposeful. This is the way to have joy in the face of sadness. You experience joy when you attempt to bring it to others. And this is what Saint Francis understood to be the goal of life.

May we be granted the grace not to so much seek to be consoled as to console, not to so much seek to be understood as to understand, and not to so much seek to be loved as to love.

Some Practical Ways To Deal With Worry

Worry being a feeling or cause to feel anxious or troubled about actual or potential problems; and considering that most of the things that we worry about may never happen, we should learn to apply the following practical ways in dealing with worries.

1. Question: Do you have a problem in your life?
    Answer: No.
    Solution: Then why worry?
2. Question: Do you have a problem in your life?
    Answer: Yes
Question: Can you do something about it?
    Answer: Yes.
    Solution: Then why worry?
3. Question: Do you have a problem in your life?
    Answer: Yes
Question: Can you do something about it?
    Answer: No.
    Solution: Then why worry?

May we be granted the grace to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Our Fresh Opportunity

A brother was accustomed to saying, "I love our religious rituals of weekly confessions; that gives me the opportunity to wipe out the slate, and begin again." And you would agree and say fair enough, yes? But how well was the repentance factor? Were there any lessons learned? And were there any genuine commitments to avoid similar misdeeds?

So as we celebrate our daily gift of a new morning, and the opportunity to wipe out the misdeeds of yesterday from our slates, may we be granted the grace and ability to learn from our misdeeds of yesterday, and the courage to abhor greed, dishonesty and ingratitude.

Watch What You Eat

Late this morning when I sheepishly and absent mindedly answered my phone with a most unusual salutation, my caller asked alarmingly, "What on earth is the matter with you this morning? And what are you still doing in bed at this time of a beautiful Monday morning? Wrong way to enter a new week, yes?"

And grudgingly but without knowing who to really begrudge under the circumstance, I said, "After having a sumptuous dinner at friend's house last night, it suddenly dawned on me that  his wife  served us plenty of meat, while their kids had only slices of onions and tomatoes on their food. So I asked why we had that amount of meat while their kids had none. And he responded, 'What should we do, when they say they won't eat dog meat?'"

In a flash my dearly departed father bless his soul, appeared, looked at me pitifully and said, "But I told you that your stomach has no key. So you should always be mindful of what you put in, because you can't open and take out any wrong stuff." I virtually flew all the way home, then almost pushed my whole fist down my throat and vomited till the early hours of this morning.

Our Ever Confusing World

Why is it that the older we get, the more confused we seem to get? They said, "And God said, let us make man in our own image and likeness!" And they supposedly did, yes? But my question has always and will continue to be, "Which man of which nation did they make in their own image and likeness?" Since I am so sold on the belief that they are Almighty, All knowing and Benevolent Gods, I keep finding it difficult to believe that the same Gods, made the humble, intelligent and caring men of other nations, and my ignorant, arrogant, shameless and heartless men.

And every time I watch audience after audience applaud different speakers who incidentally had just talked down on them by analyzing their ills, I wonder if I have lost it. Then I ask, "Why are these Heartless and Shameless people clapping for what has just entered one ear and lost through the other ear?" May we be granted the grace to find answers to our problems!

Some Wife's Guides To A Happy Marriage

Mrs. Martha De Purenez, aged 104 and in marriage for 82 years said, "I know that young ladies will never agree with me, but whoever will implement these shall be the happiest of all and shall make a nice home; unless otherwise."

1.  The husband is always right

2.  The husband is always the master of the family even if he has no job and NO MONEY

3.  The wife must ask for permission from the husband before going to bed if the husband isn't yet in bed, as well as before turning her face away from him on the bed. The husband is still the master and has full control on all the operations even in bed

4.  If there is a quarrel with the husband and then a visitor comes, the wife should smile as if nothing happened

5. Anytime the wife thinks she is right in a matter, she should refer herself to Article number 1

6.   A good wife must go to bed in her nightdress with no panties or bra, (except during your monthly flow, which he must know about) to allow the husband access to her at any time he feels like (NOTE: *All women should note that this is a man's greatest desire in marriage* - especially if he loves the woman)

7. A woman MUST NEVER refuse her husband's romance expect on the grounds of health and prayers. *Even in such cases she must POLITELY and LOVINGLY explain to him*

8. When the husband is shouting, the wife keeps quiet and that is the time to apologize for whatever has upset him. (NOTE: *Apologizing to him after you have shouted back and insulted him DOES NOT WORK!)*

10. The wife should always seek the husband's permission before making any decision except where he has previously granted you the permission on that particular issue

10. A wife should always excuse the husband to the children if he comes home late.

11. Even on a personal matter a wife waits for her husband with her ideas but must take those of her husband when he is back home

12. The wife must never use work in the day as excuse to deny him at night. Let him be the one to say, "Oh, you must be tired after all the stress of the day!" It is best that way.

13. The wife never goes to sit down in her husband's office unless in an urgent case or an emergency. A good husband too will not come and sit in your office.

14. A good wife does not embark on any kind of expenses without consulting the husband *even if it is your own money*. A good husband too will not control your money.

15. The best way to settle  misunderstandings is in the bedroom. If a misunderstanding lingers and he does not make a move in bed, *a good wife should make the move*

16. The wife never refuses to prepare his meals, even if he is refusing to eat due to annoyance. *When he has refused 2 meals, prepare his favorite, with tempting treats*

17. The wife has no orders to give to her husband, but she receives orders from him

18. *The wife must always  respect the husband*. Next to freedom of access to his wife's body, this is a man's most important concern

19. The wife has to control her jealousy and never show it in public

20. The good wife pays visits to her parents as well as to her in-laws *only* with the permission of the husband. And under normal circumstances, accompanied by the husband

21. A good wife never entertains guests in her home without the husband's knowledge and consent. *Not even your own relations*.

22. NEVER ENTERTAIN *ANY MALE GUEST* WITHOUT HIS KNOWLEDGE. *Not even his own blood brother* He may not talk or complain about some, but be sure he has counted it against you.

23. The wife *never* goes out anywhere without permission from her husband

*NB:*    My dear fellow woman, I want you to know that *THE POWER OF A GOOD WIFE IS IN HER WEAKNESS*. Please,  as stupid as this may sound to you, use it and watch your husband become your lover once again.  This is my secret recipe for a happy marriage and full control of my home. *I did all the above and I was the one running the home; NOT MY HUSBAND!* His love and respect for me was second to none. And I know that's why God has also granted us long life to enjoy each other the more.

*Please feel free to share, for sharing is caring.

Playing The Angel's Advocate

Recently, I think I may have received more than my own fair share of, "End Time Messages." And all proclaiming among others;
1. Signs of End Time.
2. 7,000 Churches, Fasting And Praying Over Terrifying New Persecution Law.
3. Russia has banned any form of religion, soon it will be universal.
4. Troubling times for the Church in Russia as the State tries to seal loopholes for anyone to meet Christ.
5. A new law has been signed this week by President Putin stating that, "Foreign guests are not permitted to speak in churches unless they have a "work permit" from Russian authorities."

And I seem not to be able to stop wondering what the worrying is all about, considering that;
1. Since Church, an after thought business product of man that was neither in the Creation of our Universe nor in the creation of any Nation, every Sovereign Nation has the right to decide what and what product/s not to be distributed in her Nation.
2. If in every Nation, a foreigner must need a work permit to practice his trade, why the cry over, "Foreign guests are not permitted to speak in churches unless they have a 'work permit' from Russian authorities?"
3. And if meeting Christ is spiritual, why worry about any proscription of just one of man's business product after thought?

A Letter From Your Brain

Dear You,

Yes, I mean you; and I'm your brain. I know you are wondering why I am bothering to write you, when we are always together. The reason is for you to share the hard copies of this good and bad news that I have for you today.

The bad news is to let you know that it's time for a major declutter of me (your brain), which you have over the years filled with countless irrelevant limiting habits and beliefs that have effectively capped my potentials to change our life and world for the better.

The good news is you can upgrade me now, and finally be able to erase all the limiting beliefs, unwanted emotional patterns and the bad disempowering habits of greed, negativity, insensitivity and gullibility that you have knowingly and unknowingly filled me with; that have held us back from earning and enjoying what we rightfully deserve.

Beware Of Free Gifts

When a man established a Zoo and set the entrance fee at $300, he got no visitors. He then reduced it to $200; but still no one came. And when he then further reduced it to $100, but still no one came, he set the entrance free.

Soon enough, the Zoo was filled with visitors. He then quietly locked the gate, set up an exit fee of $600, and set the lions free. Immediately and without any hesitation, everyone paid the said exit fee.

"May we be granted the grace to appreciate that nothing is free in this world! We pay now, or we pay later!! And if we pay later, we pay with a lot of interests!!!"

On Thinking About What We Are Thinking About

The other day when we talked about, "The Power Of Thought," we appreciated how easy we could become the products of our thoughts. We also appreciated that our thoughts underlay many of our actions and interactions in understanding their physical and metaphysical origins, and the  processes and effects that  have been longstanding goals in academic disciplines including linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, medicine, arts, biology, sociology and cognitive science.

But how much attention do we pay to thinking about what we are thinking about? How many of us care about what wanders into our minds and find shelter there? Just as we would not be careless to allow every wandering and homeless stranger stay in our homes, we should never be careless with our minds.  which determine what we achieve and amount to in life?

"May we be granted the grace to guard and guide what we are thinking always."

Celebrating Our Greed, Ignorance And Gullibility

Finland has the most stable economy in the world today. And there are less than 20 churches in Finland.

Switzerland has the second most stable economy in the world. And Switzerland has less than 30 churches.

Denmark is the third most stable economy in the world. And Denmark has about 23 churches in all.

And all the above are countries considered to be largely atheist in nature, but yet so blessed.

But come to Owerri town, SE Nigeria, from MCC junction to Toronto junction, there are 36 churches. That stretch of about 5 km harbours 36 churches, more churches than the entire Switzerland. And between Owerri and Mgbidi, there are more than 97 churches.

According to CAC, Nigeria has over 23,000 registered churches; which means,
* Nigeria has more churches than schools and hospitals combined.
* Nigeria has more pastors than doctors and teachers combined.
* In Nigeria, everyone is born again.
* All Nigerians are covered in the blood of Jesus.
* And all Nigerians are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Yet none of those claims, reflects in the expected moral elevation of the society. We are still one of the greediest, laziest, ignorant, corrupt, deceitful, gullible hypocritical and hateful set of humans on the planet today, with all our Christ and Holy spirit.

"May we be be granted the grace to draw the line between religiosity and spirituality; that all forms of greed, ignorance and gullibility may be abhorred."
