A husband returns early from work one evening, to find the
housekeeper with her suitcase packed, and waiting in the porch. “Why are you
sitting here with your suitcase?” He asked.
With tears beginning to well up in her eyes, she says, “I’m
quitting. Madam said, I don’t deserve a raise.” While placing his hands on her
shoulders to console her, he asked. “And where is Madam?”
“Madam has gone to the Salon.” She replied. “Don’t worry. Come
back in, while I try to reach her on the phone.” He assured her. She obliged
reluctantly, while he went into the bedroom to place the call.
When his wife picked the call, he asked, “Honey, what shall
we do with the housekeeper insisting on a raise?” She replied without
hesitation, “Screw her.”
“Very well, honey.” He agreed.
