Where Is Your Heart?

The body of David Livingstone was buried in England where he was born, but his heart was buried in the Africa he loved. At the foot of a tall tree in a small African village the natives dug a hole and placed in it the heart of this man who they loved and respected. If your heart were to be buried in the place or state you loved most during life, where would it be? Where is your heart?

A young banker was driving his new BMW on a mountain range when his car ran into the woods. Just before it slid down a cliff, the man managed to jump out of the car sustaining severe wounds. A passing trucker saw the accident in his rearview mirror, pulled his rig to a halt and ran back to see if he could help. When he arrived at the scene, he found the banker standing at the roadside, looking down at the BMW burning in the ravine below.

Incredibly the banker was oblivious to his injury and only moaned, “My BMW! My new BMW!” The truck driver pointed at the banker’s shoulder and said, “You’ve got bigger problems than that car. We’ve got to find your arm. Maybe the surgeons can sew it back on!” The banker looked where his arm had been, paused a moment, and groaned even louder, “Oh no! My Rolex! My new Rolex!” Where is your heart?
There is an old adage, which says, “Where your pleasure is, there is your treasure; where your treasure is, there is your heart; where your heart is, there is your happiness.” Where is your heart?

When we are healthy, we prefer not to look at the sick. When we are rich, we choose to avoid those who are poor. When we are young, we want to avoid those who are old. When we see today, we think yesterday is too old fashion. When we are comfortable, we don’t like to be with people in pain. Where is your heart? Remember, in life, we cannot decide whether or not we will live or die; we can only decide what we will die for! May our Week not be Weak, but with Him! May we have A Prayerful Week!
