While in the kitchen cooking lunch one afternoon, a West Indian mother looked out the window and saw her daughter up on the mango tree plucking away, and some boys with happy faces at the foot of the tree, catching the fruits. The mother screamed, “You up there, get down this minute and come to the kitchen!” As soon as the daughter entered the kitchen, the mother scolded, “Girl, didn't I tell you not to climb dem mango tree? The boys will see your panty!" And the daughter responded, "Oh mama! You tink me stupid? Me tek it off, before me climb di tree."

The Church Conference
A pastor called his wife and said, “Honey, I have been nominated to represent our district, at a 4 day church conference holding in Tinapa; and our flight leaves this evening. Please help me pack my usual, as usual.” The dutiful wife did as requested and waited patiently for her husband with mixed feelings. As the husband rushed home, picked up his packed case, kissed the wife bye and was about rushing out, the wife said, “Wait a minute, sweetheart! Aren’t you forgetting something?”
The husband froze at the doorway and asked, “What?” And the wife smiled amiably and said, “Let us commit you, the journey and the church conference, into the mighty hands of Papa God.” Agreeably, the husband said, “You are so right! As one of our prayer warriors, please pray for us.” So the wife prayed, “Dear Papa God, I commit my loving and faithful husband, the journey and the church conference into your mighty hands. Grant him the courage not to commit adultery. But if he does, may the holy ghost fire, consume him and his partner. Amen.” And the husband exclaimed, “Praise God! God has just told me, the conference has been cancelled.”

The Power Of Togetherness
Chinua Achebe said, “A man who calls his kinsmen to a feast does not do so to redeem them from starving; they all have food in their own houses. When we gather together in the moonlight at the village ground, it is not because of the moon; every man can see it from his own compound. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so. Let us find time to come together physically and enjoy the power of TOGETHERNESS. Let's smile not because we don't have problems but because we are stronger than the problems.”

Why I Weep For Nigeria
After all my vexations and confusions, I have now been plagued with weeping for Nigeria. I am sure that you would too, when you are sane enough to see how rogues and charlatans in religious robes are exhibiting their opulence and feeding fat on the ignorance, gullibility, moral poverty and the low self esteem of their congregations. And they are doing all these, without a care.
You would too, when you are sane enough to see how rogues and charlatans in our national assembly are greedily and heartlessly conducting themselves without any morals, to the detriment of the masses. They have refused to appreciate how dialogues and conversations about the lessons of life can lead us to our salvation. They now hate with passion, the idea of being brought back to moral rectitude and unto the path of sanity.
And you would too, when you are sane enough to see that while our Mosques and Churches have unfortunately lost their senses of directions, we continue to fail to appreciate the urgent need for us to go back to our roots and traditional religions.

Thou Shalt Not Be Greedy
The current richest man in the world, Bill Gates has over his life time, given half of his wealth to charities and developing nations. During the great depression (extreme recession) of the 1930's, Standard Oil boss and world's richest man back then (and even in modern times), John Davison Rockefeller loaned the America state about half of his net worth. Now that Nigeria is in a recession; them say, Africa's richest man who also doubles as the richest black man on the planet, Aliko Dangote is busy advising the Federal government to sell off national assets, so he and his cronies can buy. (Author unknown, but worth sharing; though I don’t believe in them say.)
In 1896, Thomas Edison, the great inventor who invented the electric bulb, was working on an idea to design a car when he heard that a young man who worked in his company had created an experimental car. Edison met the young man at his company's party in New York and interviewed him about the car. He was impressed! He had the same idea as the young man but he was considering electricity as the power source while the young man used gasoline engine to power the car. He slammed his fist down and shouted, “Young man, that's the thing! You have it! I think you are on to something! I encourage you to continue your pursuits!” With these words of encouragement from the most highly respected inventor in the United States at that time, HENRY FORD, continued his work, invented a car and became wealthy.
On December 9, 1914, Thomas Edison's laboratory and factory got burnt. He was 67years old and the damage was too extensive, for insurance cover. Before the ashes were cold, Henry Ford handed Edison a cheque of $750,000 with a note saying that Edison can have more if he needed it! In 1916, Henry Ford relocated his home to the building next to Edison's home and when Edison couldn't walk and was confined to a wheelchair by his doctors, Henry Ford also bought a wheelchair in his house so that he could run wheelchair race with his friend and mentor! Thomas Edison made Henry Ford believe in himself and got a friend for life!
*LESSON*
Never be jealous of other people's success. If you can't win a race, help the person in front of you to break the record! Your candle will not lose its light when it lights up another candle! Yes! This article is for you! Yes you! For those who think they have arrived, who think some persons are no longer in their circle, who thinks those they wined and dined with yesterday have no values again. Do you know what? They are burning their ladder to success for a short time comfort. They are here and they are reading it. We are light for others to see, only if we know. Be inspired, meet with someone today, speak positive to their lives, save a soul today! “Please feel free to share, for sharing doubles happiness.”

How To Be Happy
To handle yourself, use your head; to
handle others, use your heart.
Anger is only one letter short of danger.
If someone betrays you once, it is his fault;
if he betrays you twice, it is your fault.
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds
discuss events; small minds discuss people.
He who loses money, loses much; he who
loses a friend, loses much more;
but he who loses faith, loses all.
Have a blessed, healthful and love-filled day.

The Courage To Seek, And The Wisdom To Understand
An army barracks had four soldiers guarding a concrete slab in front of the barracks at all times. Different commanders came and went but the tradition remained; the soldiers changed shifts guarding the slabs. After 80 years, a new commander was assigned to the barracks. Amongst the things he did was to ask why things were done the way they were. When he asked why soldiers were guarding the slab, he was told, we've always done it this way. It's our tradition. Our former commanders instructed us to do that. The commander was bent on finding out the reason for this practice. He went to the Archives to look for answers and came across a document that had the explanation. The document was very old. It had instructions written by one of the retired commanders who had even passed away.
The new commander learnt that over 80 years ago, the barracks wanted to build a platform where events could be performed. When the concrete slab was laid, wild animals walked over it at night before the slab would dry. The soldiers would fix it the next morning but when evening came the same thing would happen. So the commander ordered that four soldiers should guard the concrete slab for three weeks to allow it to dry. The following week the commander was transferred to another post and a new commander was brought in. The new commander found the routine and continued to enforce it. Every other commander that came did the same. Thus, eighty years later; soldiers continued guarding the concrete slab.
Are you carrying on with obsolete beliefs in religions, attitudes, and traditions that were relevant to certain people or certain times? What do you really know about these beliefs? What is your own opinion about yourself, people of a different race, the opposite sex, religions, politics, certain business opportunities, new products, and so on and so forth? You might just be guarding a concrete slab. Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible. May we be granted the courage to seek, and the wisdom to understand; that we may make progress.
